2015 Harder Hearts?!

As I had a holiday booked in the first week and the last week of Lent I thought I would push the boat out and attempt an ongoing Lenten yarn bomb/heart attack. The crochet hearts would take longer to make than the plastic ones from last year, but with the extra holiday evenings already booked I thought I'd chance it. The beginning was a little depressing.

Then I realised that the pattern the lovely Sarah Anderson made available on her blog was in American crochet terms. (I did vaguely know there were some differences but I had no idea quite how different those differences were!). I battled on with my crochet book as a reference and was quite pleased with myself when I managed to improve... the third attempt even looked a bit like Sarah's!

My arthritic thumb is not happy but I got a bit carried away on my first holiday and have nearly made enough for Lent. I'm even pondering going wild and just giving them out too willy nilly... But that will depend how much life crashes in and curtails any further crocheting.

Harder hearts? Yes. But perhaps the more interesting for that. I like to think about the crafty journey I've been on since I first learnt to crochet. And the crafty people who've inspired me.
