Sneaky post Easter post

Wow Easter Day was so mad. Sunrise yarmbombing was such fun. Very resurrection. The trees looked awesome, even if I say so myself. But it was a little bit disappointing to find one had already been stripped by lunchtime. Another was bald by the vet next morning. I like to think it was an overly keen care assistant knicking them for the residents in the nearby care home but I think I am kidding myself.

Church was a little bit crazy - pretty normal for Clapton Park Easter Day. But definitely more dramatic than most weeks when one of the congregation suddenly leapt to his feet and chased a guy down the road! He was followed by several other church members who realised the guy had knicked a bag from the next door hall. Amazingly as we were just finishing off praying for them all (the chased and the chasers) the congregants returned with the bag in tow!! Poor guy had just been sitting on the park bench looking through the bag for cash claiming homelessness and hunger. He was invited to join for the rest if the Easter breakfast but was understandably a bit too embarrassed. I expect he may well have turned up later for lunch at the regular Urban Table where the woman who's bag it was spends pretty much every Sunday afternoon feeding homeless guys.

Lovely lunch with some lovely folks followed (great beef brisket from Chatsworth Road market man cooked sooo slowly yum yum) and then we trooped off down to the River Lea. AKA Sea of Galilee we (somewhat illegally) lit a fire and cooked fish and told a story about a guy who did that once. Oh yeah then we hunted for thousands of eggs and were nearly sick with all the chocolate. Brilliant!
